International cluster conference

The first international cluster conference will be held on 10th March, 2009 in Belgrade, and will be organized by the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development of the Republic of Serbia. At the conference will be presented the results of the “Cluster Development Support Programme“, as well as clusters, established with the support of the Ministry, which operate successfully today.

The aim of the Conference will be the exchange of experiences on clusters' establishment and development, as well as interconnecting the already existing and the new clusters in the area of South Eastern Europe.

Plenary sessions which are planned by the conference are:

  • Cluster development policies – experiences
  • Cluster development approach (bottom-up; top-down)
  • The role of clusters as innovation drivers
  • Clusters and competitiveness at regional level
  • Presentations of clusters and clusters initiatives and clusters in the Republic of Serbia.

It is expected that the event will host about 200 participants, including cluster managers from SEE countries, representatives from the governmental and non-governmental organizations, associations of entrepreneurs, chambers, regional development agencies and the representatives from the European Commission and the OECD experts.
