Cluster Galenit and its members begin the implementation of two important projects, one with significant regional and urgent environmental themes, and other - which promotes and develops social enterprises in Serbia.
At the IPA copmetition: Support for the partnership in the field of "Environment, energy efficiency, health and safety" of the European Commission the proposed project "Capacity Building for the prohibition of the use and care of asbestos in the Western Balkans" was approved. The consortium consists of the Ecological Association Helix - Belgrade, Serbia, members of the cluster Galenit, Institute Gaus, Bitola, FYR Macedonia, the Fund for Applied Research and Communications, Sofia, Bulgaria and EKOPOT-association for the development, improvement and promotion of ecological agriculture, tourism and environmental protection, Tuzla Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project budget is € 250,000.00, and it will be implemented in18 months Project represents a regionally important environmental step forward, because in addition to solving a very important environmental issues - asbestos, will be the nucleus for the creation and development of influential regional environmental action network.
At the competition:"Advocacy in practice", which is called by ISC (Institute for Sustainable Communities ) in partnership with USAID the project's proposal "Advocacy model of social entrepreneurship in the recycling sector as an instrument for poverty reduction and socio-economic integration of collectors community " was approved. The consortium who proposed the projects consists of cluster Galenit and its three members: Ecological Association Helix - as project manager, Eco-service cooperatives, Belgrade and Valjevo Eco plus cooperatives - Valjevo.
The project budget is $ 44,800.00, and it will be implemented in 12 months and represents a significant incentive to the promotion and development of social entrepreneurship in our country.
