The Department for Regional Development and Promotion of Entrepreneurship consists of small internal units:

- Department for SME and Entrepreneurship policy
- Department for Regional development policy and IPA unit

Activities performing in the Department for SME and Entrepreneurship policy are related to:monitoring and analyzing business and the business environment of small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship; proposing economic policy measures for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship, and monitoring the effects of the proposed measures; preparation and coordination of policy implementation for development of small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship in the Republic of Serbia; initiation, coordination and participation in the implementation of donor activities in the field of encouraging the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship; activities related to the implementation of the SBA; proposing measures for the legal and other solutions in order to improve the business environment for small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship, as well as other tasks in this field.

In the Department for Regional Development Policy and IPA Projects operations of initiating and proposing measures are performed, forcreating preconditions for decreasing differences in the economic and overall social standard. In this Department available natural, economic, human and other resources shall be analyzed, methodologies for measuring the degree of development are defined, maps of territorial parts of the Republic of Serbia are made, defined using different criteria, with the aim to define local communities’ development. From here also stem initiatives for compiling laws and other regulations, as well as initiatives for compiling development strategies.

Besides that, in this Department are performed jobs of institutional adjustments for the needs of IPA Fund usage. Therefore, there is a special department for IPA Projects. In it activities on programming and implementation of projects are organized, financed by the EU funds.
